About Feline Folks

Feline Folks was founded in 2007 by a handful of caring, local people who were concerned with the growing population of feral cats in greater Sun City Center. A 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization was formed to help the local residents manage and care for the community free-roaming cats in a humane, proven way.

Our program utilizes (T/N/V/R) Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return, a universally practiced and Hillsborough County supported effort.  By trapping, neutering, vaccinating and returning feral cats to their outdoor homes we have humanely reduced the population of free roaming cats throughout the area.  We also care for and maintain several local colonies of cats established in our geographic area. Our major focus is Kings Point and Sun City Center.

Our community service results in the following benefits to area residents:

  • Reduced cost to the taxpayer

  • Reduced euthanasia rates in area animal shelters

  • Reduced health risks by spay/neutering and vaccinating

  • Reduced nuisance complaints

  • Reduced rodent population

  • Positive community cat health

From 2007 to 2014 Feline Folks has spay/neutered more than 3,859 free-roaming community cats and socialized over 1000 cats and kittens which have been fostered and then adopted to forever homes.
